The sun shined. The beach was empty. The presents were amazing ( I got a NIKON D90 and some macro lenses, FUCK YEAH!!!)
When we were eating our Vego christmas dinner we were saying how much better this Christmas was than last year when we had some heavy shit goin down cause even though we have a tiny family now, it was important we were at home and together.
My mum sort of shocked me when she said to my sister, "Lucie won't be here next year".
My sister was like, WHAT!
Mum said "Yeah, she'll be travelling, she'll open her passport this year and she'll take off, she won't be here for Christmas".
And it wasn't with anger or sadness that she said it, she just mentioned it matter of fact.
Even though I hadn't mentioned it to the closet person in my life, she still felt it, I have to go. I don't know when, and I'm not really sure where at the moment.
But as soon as I can get things to a point here that will be ok without me, I'm gonna go.
Sickness is fucked. It forces clarity onto everyone it touches.
But through that you get to make the life decisions that maybe you wouldn't have had the courage to make if you didn't know just how short life is.
If your with your family, take advantage of the holidays to spend as much time with them as possible.
And go give all of your mums a massive hug for me.
You never know, we all might be hugging them via Skype next year.
So I got me a Nikon for Christmas and last night I finally set it up. FUCK it just reminded me I know NOTHING about cameras,it also made me wanna dig out my old Canon SLR that I buried in the 'too hard' basket.
Anyway... I'm keen as mustard to be able to start taking new snaps of my jewellery and have the images to use on my online store which is coming soon x
Christmas has kicked in FINALLY! This year has been a bloody tough one so it was nice to get back into some normal christmas activities, like decorating and SHOPPING!
We had a much more subdued shopping trip, the mother is taking it easy these days so we did a mini marathon taking in Tuchuzy in Bondi beach, then we hit the Junction and finished off at the Intersection in Paddo!
I managed to bag some J Brand Leopard print jeans, a Bec and Bridge Aukubra and some much needed VANS. But I'll have to wait till the Fat Man comes for them to be officially mine!
We spent the next day decorating our house, we got a little carried away, considering the mothers creativity and the fact that I'm an artist and the sister is a creative director of merchandising it's no surprise the decorations spilled out into the front yard!
A her warmth and kindness is only matched by the firey wit that comes out of her naughty little mouth sometimes.
She is a design authority that has a penchant for expensive shoes and covets my handbags frequently.
Miss Kelly hails from Ireland and is just as comfortable negotiating carat size in Cartier as she is knocking back a pint of Guiness at the pub.
Kelly wears Dinosaur Designs ABSTRACT necklace and BABYANYTHING Shield Ring $160
She is a true friend of mine that I hope I will have forever, just as she will have the ring I made recently forever. I laughed for a while when she confessed that her husband told her that he found the ring 'sexy'...... argh, the bloody Irish, only one thing on their minds!
